Join the European Days of Action!

The European Days of Action for #GoodFoodGoodFarming are back! With farmers, communities, schools, municipalities, and citizens from across Europe, we call for fair, healthy, and sustainable food and farming. Every October, hundreds of locally organised events, from farm visits and community meals to debates, workshops and demonstrations, are organised all over Europe. Each event is rooted in its local context and contributes to one shared campaign.

This year’s collective action, Breaking Food News, uses the format of a news report to uncover the real stories behind our food. With humour, satire and evidence-based storytelling, you can reveal who holds power in the food system, expose its contradictions, and highlight the people in your surroundings who are already building solutions.

How you can take part:

  1. Organise or register a local event as part of the European Days of Action
  2. Contribute to Breaking Food News by filming a short report
  3. Use the campaign resources to share your messages for #GoodFoodGoodFarming

Join us and become part of the European movement! Your action will be visible on the campaign website, Action Map and social media. Together we change the conversation about food across Europe.

Food Justice Video Series
Food Justice Video Series

Who controls our food? A handful of corporations decide what farmers grow, what ends up on our shelves and what prices we pay. This concentration of power deepens inequality and drives climate damage and biodiversity destruction.

But people worldwide are pushing back. In our new video series, 25 farmers, activists and community leaders from 11 countries tell their stories, in their own languages, of building fair, sustainable food systems from the ground up. They show what works when people take back control.

The series exposes what's broken and shows that another way is possible. Watch the stories and use this action guide to share them with your community.

GOOD FOOD 4ALL
Food Should Be a Human Right!

Hunger is not an accident. It is a policy failure. But change is possible when people come together.

Last year, hundreds of organisations launched the European Citizens’ Initiative to make the right to food a reality. And the movement is growing.

The initiative demands laws that guarantee fair food systems, support peasant agroecology, and recognise that food is not a commodity but a human right. The solutions are already there. For example, France is experimenting with Food Social Security programs so everyone has access to good food.

Add your name and help to make #GoodFood4All a reality!

Standing up against pesticide deregulation through the
Food and Feed Safety Omnibus

The European Commission wants to weaken pesticide rules, putting people and nature at serious risk. Under their proposal, most pesticides would receive lifetime approval, ending the current requirement to check their safety every 10 to 15 years.

This is not an abstract policy debate. Pesticides poison the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air rural communities breathe. They disproportionately harm farmers and farm workers in rural areas, who face the highest exposure. They endanger children, who are especially vulnerable to toxic chemicals. And they kill bees, pollinators, and birds, putting our food at risk, since three-quarters of the world's leading food crops rely on pollinators.

Chemical companies are pushing for these changes to protect their profits. The time to act is now. Member States and the European Parliament will soon decide whether these dangerous changes move forward. Friends of the Earth and partners across Europe are already campaigning hard against the omnibus. They are calling on MEPs to reject unlimited permits for glyphosate and PFAS and to ban the most dangerous pesticides now.

Agribusiness Atlas 2026:
Now Available

Who controls what we eat? A handful of corporations dominate the global food system, from seeds to supermarket shelves. Recent crises exposed the risks: while food prices soared, agribusiness giants made record profits.

The Agribusiness Atlas 2026 reveals how corporate power shapes our food system, squeezes farmers and drives up food prices. Our friends at Friends of the Earth Europe co-published the Atlas.

Watch the recording with experts including the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food and explore the data exposing who really benefits from our food system.

Tune in for facts and figures about the corporations that control what we eat!

When Nature Loses,
We All Lose

The air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat all depend on strong environmental laws. Right now, those protections are under attack in the EU, gutted under the promise of simplification. In reality, these changes profit greed while endangering our health and our children's future.

For farmers and rural communities, weakened laws mean polluted water, degraded soils and destruction of the biodiversity that farming depends on. When nature loses, food systems lose too.

Our friends at BirdLife Europe are part of the ”Hands Off Nature” Campaign, defending these safeguards. We stand with them in demanding that EU decision-makers keep protections intact.

Join them and don't let polluters speak for you. Give nature a voice!

Heatwaves and Farming: Solutions from the Ground

September brings another heatwave across Europe. For farmers, extreme heat and drought are no longer a future threat. It is already reshaping harvests, stressing livestock and squeezing incomes.

In France, Collectif Nourrir highlights how the dominant farming model, dependent on synthetic fertilisers and fossil fuels, contributes to climate breakdown while leaving farmers vulnerable to its impacts. Their members report that one in five farmers now cites climate impacts as a top concern.

But farmers are not waiting for permission to adapt. Luna, a market gardener in the Jura, is among those testing solutions: diversifying crops, rebuilding soil organic matter, planting hedgerows for shade and wind protection, and shifting to agroecological practices that retain water and reduce emissions.

AgroClimat2050's Serge Zaka warns that repeated heatwaves push ecosystems to the brink. Yet every heatwave also reveals where resilient farming works. The question is not whether farmers can adapt. It is whether EU policies will support them fast enough.
